Turned after a historic find in Luebeck, Germany. These bowls are very cute and have been around for a long time. This one is deep enough for a drinkinng cup and I guess mead will taste even more authentic if drunk from it.
I love turning bowls that have so much history to them and it always seems like a time-travel when on the lathe and making a copy of an original that was turned hundreds of years ago.
Turned from Wych Elm. The tree was 250 to 300 years old and stood in Edinburgh.
This is perfect for mead and I pesonally find the grain particularily attractive.
