A nest of two. Turning nests on a pole lathe requires a special set of skill and tools. However, the extra time spend on each blank is extra worth it and I love the looks of nested bowls. There is something about looking down into the bowl and matching up the grain patterns of the big and small one. The small bowl here has a branch running through its base( with a lovely leak) but has dissapear in the bigger bowl. The bowls are turned without any extras, like grooves or beads or carving and toolmarks are emphasised to create a rustic and authentic feel.

Turned from a piece of Ash, the tree stood in  Cumbria.

approx. 18 x 7.5 cm and 8.5 x 4.0 cm

Skol.

This one has a flat base and no decoration.
